3M offer a complete range of fibre optic polishing films. Technical support is available for process development. The part numbers listed represent a small selection of our more popular films

We can supply the entire range of 3M fibre optic polishing films. If you cannot find the films that you require below please contact our sales department

662XW diamond lapping films have a higher diamond concentration and tougher resin which can enable them to cut faster and last 2 or 3 times longer than standard diamond lapping films. 662XW is our best selling 3M diamond lapping film

We offer 662XW in 5" and 4.25" size discs to suit popular polishing machine platens. Other disc/sheet sizes available upon request

661XU or 661X diamond standard grade are available if required

461X silicon carbide films are available in 5" for polishing machines or 8.5x11" sheets for hand polishing. Again, other sizes are available upon request

We offer 261X aluminium oxide lapping films in 8.5x11" sheets for hand polishing but discs are available upon request

A number of films for MTRJ and MTP polishing are available (films with easy breakdown resins or mineral coated flock suited for polymer MT ferrules)

863XW has established itself as a popular final polishing film. 865X has been developed to offer longer life, higher yields, less rework and lower costs

We have listed a couple of diamond films in 9x11" format for hand rework. Many other grit sizes are available upon request

ADS is the successor to the industry leading FOS-01 final polishing film

Changes to the shape, size and coating method of the SiO2 particles on the polishing film results in longer life

A change in the resin used minimizes residue adhesion and can eliminate a final cleaning stage in the process

A 20% solution of Ethanol will dissolve the binder resin and increase the amount of SiO2 in the polishing solution, increasing its polishing capability to reduce scratches/dots left on the film

ADS should be used with 2.5mm ferrules. Use ADS-SKY with 1.25mm (LC) ferrules
